Alumna Spotlight: Lisa D'Angelo '97

Apr 27 2026

Last June, D’Angelo was sworn inas the Deputy Chief State’s Attorney for Operations, one of three deputy positions within the division. In this role, she oversees legal bureaus and manages appeals of criminal convictions. She is the first woman to hold a deputy position within the State of Connecticut Division of Criminal Justice.

Before this position, D’Angelo served as Director of the Office of Ethics and Professional Standards, where she was the division’s primary liaison with law enforcement agencies. She also led the development and implementation of ethical and professional standards, as well as training programs for prosecutors, inspectors, and staff.

D’Angelo earned her law degree from Quinnipiac University School of Law and joined the State’s Division of Criminal Justice in 2005. She is also a certified law enforcement instructor with the State of Connecticut Police Officer Standards and Training Council and an adjunct professor at Middlesex Community College.

During her visit, Lisa reflected on her time at Mercy, especially the friendships she continues to cherish. Amy Cannarella Blanco ’97 P’28 attended the presentation in support of her best friend. Today, both Amy and Lisa have daughters who are students at Mercy, a meaningful full-circle moment that reflects the lasting bond of the Mercy community.

Congratulations, Lisa, for being a trailblazer at the state level and an inspiration to our students. We are grateful for your willingness to give back by sharing your wisdom with the women of Mercy. You embody the true spirit of Mercy.
