Mercy Senior Speaks at State Capitol on Safe Driving
During Teen Safe Driving Awareness Week, Mercy senior Victoria Piscatelli was chosen to speak at a statewide briefing held by the Department of Motor Vehicles at the State Capitol. Representing teen drivers, she said that the new laws have directly affected teen behavior: “Driving is a privilege and teens are realizing that,” she said.
Victoria is an officer of the Mercy Chapter of SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions), one of the largest organizations in the school. Last year, Victoria was a member of a team of students who produced an award winning video in a statewide contest sponsored by the Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles on the perils of driving distracted.
