The Mercy High School Mock Trial Team, which captured the state championship title at the Connecticut Supreme Court in February, was recently honored by Governor Dannel Malloy and the General Assembly of the State of Connecticut.  The Mercy Mock Trial Team emerged the winner from among 65 high school teams participating in the statewide competition sponsored by Civics First.

Members of the Mock Trial Team met with Governor Dannel Malloy, were presented on the floor of the General Assembly, and received personal citations from Representative Joseph Serra.  The Team now moves on to compete in the National High School Mock Trial Competition, to be held in Phoenix, Arizona in May.  Mercy's team will be the first Connecticut High School Mock Trial Team to ever compete at the national level.  The Mercy Team is coached by Attorney Peter McShane, Attorney Amity Arscott and Mercy faculty member Attorney Terri Corigliano.
